It can also be used on port lights, hatches, compass domes and instrument crystals.
You’ll love how your see through plastics regain their new appearance.
The CLEAR VIEW KIT® contains everything you need to clean, restore and protect All See-Through Plastics. Use on Isinglass, Strataglass Windows and Clears, Hatches, Port Holes, Vinyl Curtains, Compass Domes and Instrument faces:
Kit includes: No.1 Cleaner / Restorer and No.2 Protector.
Simply use CLEAR VIEW® No.1 with white dry cloth to rub out fog and oxidation and clean and restore the clarity of the plastic. Then, apply CLEAR VIEW® No. 2 to extend its life, provide UV protection, fill in minor scratches and keep the boat plastics looking new and protected against the elements.
CLEAR VIEW® can be used to restore older see through plastics and protect new plastic from deterioration to extend their useful life and save you the cost of constant replacement. This includes clear vinyl windows or Clears, Isinglass, Strataglass as well as acrylic or Plexiglass and polycarbonate or Lexan hatches, portholes and portlights, compass domes and instrument crystals. Complete, easy to understand instructions on how to clean clear vinyl boat windows is printed on the back of each bottle.
The CLEAR VIEW KIT® comes with two bottles: No.1 is the Cleaner / Restorer used for cleaning ground in dirt and pollutants and restoring oxidized plastic damaged by UV from the sun. No. 2 is the special UV Protective Coating. It’s not just a protectant, it seals the pores against dirt, bacteria and pollution, fills in minor scratches to restore optical clarity and leaves a tough, clear, anti-static coating which protects against UV, pollutants, and scratching from fine dust and dirt. The new formula is water based which eliminates VOC’s and makes the product environment friendly. Eliminating the solvents allowed us to add more active ingredients so now you get greater coverage. It’s concentrated to save you money while still providing your windows with superior protection.
In addition we’re now using Nano Technology in the No. 2 protector to improve the longevity, UV protection and giving your windows better abrasion resistance.
CLEAR VIEW® can restore cloudy vinyl windows in a single application, providing that the windows ha’en’t become permanently damaged from neglect. Regular use of CLEAR VIEW® on new clear vinyl or Clears, Isinglass and Strataglass boat windows will keep them looking their best year after year and can double their life.
Vinyl is plasticized, stabilized polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Although the clear flexible version is the plastic of choice for removable and temporary windows and it’s also the most unstable plastic commonly found on your boat. It’s soft so it’s susceptible to pits, scratches and cuts and is very vulnerable to grit and salt crystals. Rolling up your windows, touching them, wiping with a dry cloth, even wind blowing the grit or salt across the surface will cause tiny scratches which will make the surface look cloudy and destroy optical clarity. Keeping your vinyl clean by regular rinsing with clear water and patting dry with a soft microfiber cloth is essential to extending the life of your windows. Periodic cleaning with CLEAR VIEW® No. 1 removes ground in dirt and reduce surface abrasion and deteriorated plastic. The cleaner and smoother you keep your windows the longer they will remain clear and useful.
The most common cause of failure is UV damage from sunlight which causes your windows to become foggy, muddy and opaque. Clear vinyl has UV blockers built in but because of their clarity, it’s easy for the sun to exhaust them. Regular use of CLEAR VIEW® No. 2 Protective Coating with Nano Technology UV inhibitors, will reduce the suns damage and can extend the life of your vinyl.
Vinyl is built with plasticizers, otherwise it would be inflexible. When these plasticizers evaporate, the vinyl becomes brittle and cracks. Again, regular use of CLEAR VIEW® No. 2 Protective Coating will keep the clear vinyl windows flexible and supple.
CLEAR VIEW® No. 2 is more than a temporary protectant. It’s a protective coating that bonds to your plastic windows, hatches, port lights, compass domes and other see through plastic and provides a protective barrier against UV damage, abrasion and plasticizer exhaustion. The new water based formula is environment friendly but in addition is less injurious to your windows than solvent based protectants which can enlarge the pores and increase porosity.
Acrylic plastic or Plexiglass®, or in some cases polycarbonate or Lexan®, are the plastics of choice for hatch covers, port lights or portholes, compass domes and instrument crystals. They are rigid, much thicker than vinyl windows and often tinted so they resist UV damage better than clear vinyl and will last longer. None the less, if not protected, they are still susceptible to UV damage over time, resulting in clouding, surface grazing or cracking and the surfaces can easily be scuffed and scratched resulting in loss of optical clarity. Regular cleaning with CLEAR VIEW® No. 1 and protection with CLEAR VIEW® No. 2 will keep them looking new and extend their life saving you the cost of replacement.
Tips on how to extend the life of your Isinglass, Strataglass, Clears and other see-through boat plastics.
Things to avoid in the maintenance of your clear plastic windows, instrument crystals, hatches and port lights are: paper towels, hard brushes, squeegees, sponges (they collect grit and scratch), dirty cloths, cleaners with ammonia, alcohol and solvents, glass cleaners, household cleaners, furniture polish, wax, oil. They will all accelerate the degradation of your see through plastic. Even soap should be avoided. The problem with soap or detergent is that it’s not free rinsing. It leaves a soap film or soap scum and that’s food for mold which can promote mold growth. As well intentions as using something handy, or the desire to save a few dollars, you will pay many times over in the end when you have to replace your windows or hatches. Is it worth the gamble?
Clean your plastic windows, hatches, port-lights, etc. with Clear View No.1 at least once a year or more often if required and protect them with Clear View No. 2 every 4 to 8 weeks, more often in tropical climates.
Remember that a boat with crystal clear windows looks well maintained. If gives the owner greater pride of ownership and adds a lot of value to the boat when it comes time to trade up or sell your boat.
In conclusion, keep your see through plastics clean and protected and you’ll enjoy them more. Plus they’ll serve you much longer without the necessity and expense of early replacement.
“If CLEAR VIEW can’t give your windows a Clear View, nothing can!”
Enjoy a CLEAR VIEW

Keeping your new RIB or Inflatable Boat clean and protected against environmental damage can easily double the useful life of your boat, keep it looking like the day you bought it, increase your pride of ownership and bring a much higher return when it comes time to trade up or sell.
Your boat will be expected to live and survive in the Marine Environment; the toughest environment on the planet. It will be under constant attack from dirt, grime, UV, infrared, suntan lotion, marine growth, bacteria, bird and spider droppings, scuffs, stains, ozone and more. A simple and regular maintenance regime can easily defeat these ravages, but you need the right specialty products and procedure to do the job. Failure to keep your boat clean and protected will result in it looking old and tired before its time, may void your warranty and is sure to bring additional problems that can be costly to repair.
Using the right products to care for your boat is important. Household, automotive and industrial products can often cause more harm than good and should not be used. Aurora Boat Care Products are specially formulated for optimum care and maintenance of RIB and Inflatable boats. They’re endorsed, recommended and used by the top boat manufacturers in the world. These products are safe to use on Hypalon, PVC, Polyurethane, Rubber, Fiberglass and Aluminum.
NOTE: Detailed instructions for use and application of all products are on the product labels and on www.AuroraMarine.com
This is the easiest and best time to protect your boat. Within a few months in the marine environment, an unprotected boat can become soiled, stained, fouled and begin to degrade, requiring restoration before it can be properly protected.
When the special fabric for your tube and inflatable floor was manufactured, lubricants and other chemicals were used and they remain on the surface of the fabric after the boat was manufactured. It’s important to strip them away before applying the UV protector otherwise poor adhesion and failure of the protector can result. Even though your boat is new and appears clean, scrub it well with SPEED CLEAN® and a MARINE POWER MITT® to remove these pollutants, rinse well and dry. When the tube and fabric floor is dry, apply 2 coats of POLY GUARD®. These products may also be used to protect rub rails and other rubber fitments.
If the boat is to remain in the water for more than 2 days at a time, apply REPELIN® fouling release coating to all underwater fabric surfaces to reduce the attachment of marine fouling and make cleanup easier. REPELIN® can also improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. These products are effective for use in salt as well as fresh water.
If your RIB is to remain in the water for more than 2 days at a time, protect the gel coat with ®REPELIN® fouling release coating. In addition to reducing the attachment of marine fouling it will keep the bottom cleaner, eliminate salt attachment, improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. Gel coat is porous and REPELIN® will seal the pores to prevent osmosis blisters.
New gel coat is coated with a mold release agent which can impair proper bonding of long lasting protective coatings. To ensure proper attachment of REPELIN®, the hull must be scrubbed with SPEED CLEAN® and a MARINE POWER MITT® to remove any pollutants, prior to application.
If your RIB is to remain in the water for more than 2 days at a time, protect the painted bottom with REPELIN® fouling release coating. In addition to reducing the attachment of marine fouling it will keep the bottom cleaner, eliminate salt attachment, improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. Wash the surface first with INFLATABLE BOAT CLEANER® to remove any pollutants and then apply 2 coats of REPELIN®. If the hull is raw aluminum, after washing as above, coat it first with ALUMETRON® prior to applying REPELIN®.
The deck or floor surfaces of RIB’s either have a textured pattern or sand is imbedded in the gel coat, or paint, in order to provide traction and reduce slipping, especially when wet. Protecting them with wax or polish is not recommended as it can make them dangerously slippery. Left unprotected, the decks are susceptible to UV damage, soiling, staining and excessive scrubbing to keep them clean. SURE STEP® is a pressure sensitive sealer and UV protective polish that utilizes Adaptive Reflex technology. It seals the surface, protects the New Boat shine and makes the decks easy to maintain and keep clean. When you step on the deck, your weight creates pressure which gives you grip. When you take your foot off, releasing the pressure, they become smooth and slippery again making dirt attachment difficult. When the decks are wet, the traction increases even more.
Scrub the non-skid deck with SPEED CLEAN® and a scrub brush and the smooth parts with a MARINE POWER MITT®. Rinse well and dry. Apply 2 coats of SURE STEP® and buff to a beautiful shine with a SURE STEP BUFFING WHEEL® on a portable drill.
Once your boat is properly protected, maintenance usually consists of keeping it clean by rinsing with clear water and wiping dry from time to time but if stuff happens, we’ve got you covered. If your boat gets soiled from greasy atmospheric fall out, diesel soot, scum line, or other nasties, wet it with water, spray on some free rinsing, biodegradable INFLATABLE BOAT CLEANER®, wash away the grime with a MARINE POWER MITT® and wipe dry with a chamois or microfiber cloth.
Scuff marks or other dirt or stains that are difficult to remove can be scrubbed clean with SPEED CLEAN®. Rinse well, dry and re-apply POLY GUARD® and REPELIN® if applicable.
Even though your boat bottom is protected with REPELIN®, if it sits in the water for more than a few days you may see slime forming on the bottom. Simply wipe off the slime and the bottom will stay clean for months. If the boat sits in the water for long periods of time, without maintenance, marine growth may attach. Soft growth such as slime and algae can be removed with INFLATABLE BOTTOM SPRAY®. Hard growth, such as barnacles or zebra or quagga mussels can be removed with FOUL OFF®. Bottom cleaners can remove REPELIN® and POLY GUARD®. After removing the growth, scrub with SPEED CLEAN® and re-apply POLY GUARD® and REPELIN®.
POLY GUARD®, REPELIN® and SURE STEP® have a life of 6 to 8 months in continental climates and 3 to 4 months in tropical climates. At the end of each period, scrub all surfaces with SPEED CLEAN® and re-apply the protectors. Regular use of these products can extend useful life of your new RIB or Inflatable Boat, make maintenance easier and add value and pride of ownership to your boat.
Clear View #1 and #2 will not harm Lexan and will protect it and add to its life.
Lexan is a trade name for Polycarbonate and is often used for windows because it’s shatterproof and has good clarity. It is used to make bullet proof glass. It is sensitive to marking from impact or bending and crazing from UV. Some chemicals can damage or discolor it, such as ammonia (in glass cleaners) furniture polish, protectants etc. and should not be used. It can be scratched from dust and grit and must be handled carefully.
General cleaning should be done with running water (no chemicals, not even boat wash or soap) and drying should be with a with synthetic chamois or soft cloth. Pat dry, never rub. Clear View #1 is a recommended cleaner, when you need it and should be done a couple of times per year, minimum, to free the surface of pollutants that can damage it. Regular application of Clear View #2 (every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on age) will protect it from UV damage, pollution and even give it better resistance to scratching damage from dust and grit.
Yes, Clear View will keep your see through plastic clear longer.
We do not recommend that you use rubbing compounds or sandpaper on your ports as it can cause additional damage and distortion of the plastic. The Clear View No. 1 cleaner / restorer is easier to use, will do a better job and is less injurious to the plastic surface. Clear View No. 2 should be applied about every 6 to 12 weeks to keep the ports clear and protected. Because you have been using rubbing compound, you may have to apply it more frequently. Clear View No. 2 contains UV protection and anti-static materials and other ingredients to protect the surface of your plastic
It all depends on what caused the clouding. Generally speaking, if Clear View can’t restore the damages Strataglass, then nothing else can. It’s definitely worth a try as Strataglass can be very expensive to replace.
Last year Gary Dixon had a leak in the steering pump on his tower and it leaked down onto his Strataglass window. He tried 3 or 4 other boat window cleaners and nothing would touch it. He was sure that his window was ruined and would have to be replaced. As a last resort he tried the Clear View and to his amazement and delight was able to restore the damaged window. He then proceeded to do all the windows and brought them all up like new.
We are constantly being told that Clear View has restored damaged clear plastics when all hope was lost that we hate to tell people to just give up and replace the windows. It’s worth a try as a last resort. If it works it can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. If it doesn’t, you can use it to protect your new windows when you replace them. Regular use of Clear View to protect your windows will extend the life by 2 to 4 times.
Be careful about what you use to clean and protect your see through plastics. Household cleaners with ammonia or furniture or car polish can destroy them in as little as a few months. You should only clean the windows with clear water or a recommended cleaner. Even boat soap or mild dish detergent can ruin them. The same holds true for polishes or protectants. UV protection is key to the longevity of these plastics. Only use products recommended for see through plastic.

I assume you are talking about a camper top not a hardtop, and you are referring to the flexible clear vinyl side curtains, also called Isinglass, plus a clear vinyl window in the back.
The Clear View Kit is excellent for cleaning, restoring and protecting this type of marine plastic. Use the No. 1 cleaner / restorer to clean the windows and remove traces of white or yellow fogging and light scratches. Next protect the windows with No. 2, UV protector. Re-apply the protector every 4 to 6 weeks to keep your windows supple and clear. Regular cleaning should only be done with running water as from a garden hose and never wiped dry but only patted dry with a soft cotton cloth or preferably a Synthetic Boat Chamois which will absorb water without rubbing and scratching. Regular application of the protector will increase the life of your windows 2 to 4 times.

Shocked & Amazed!!
I used Clear View on our severly hazed & scuffed up 9 year old isinglass that over the past 4 years have somewhat been neglected. I started with the front isinglass first and was completely shocked & amazed when I saw how the white haze just vanished!!! After applying the #2 solution, I noticed the fine scuffs and scrstches also diminished greatly, leaving behind a beautiful clear shine!! WOW!!
Takes some time and muscle to apply, but knowing what the end results are makes it totally worth it!! WELL DONE!! I just wish the bottles were bigger for that price!!! 🙂

Blown AWAY
I cannot recommend this product enough. I bought it at the boat show in Toronto. I had cloudy white spots on my canvas. I thought I was going to have to replace them. This product made them clear again! Saved me ALOT of money. Now I’m going to try the Boat Shine Kit. Hope it is as good.

What a great product
We have a 2001 Carver motor yacht with the original strataglass side curtains. We always used the Imar cleaning product on them but they got foggier each year. After doing some online research I found your Clear View product. At the end of last season I took all the curtains home and began cleaning them in the spring. What an incredible difference.
Yesterday I took all the curtains back down to the boat and hung them and other boat owners were shocked when they heard that most of the curtains were 16 years old.
My only regret is that I did not take before and after pictures.
So happy I did some homework.

Incredible
Mine where so bad…..yellow, water marks, sticky firm, scratches, and a few fold creases… if this didn’t do it, they where going in the trash.
It took 2 applications on the cleaner. I also used a small 6 inch buffer for the application and micro fiber towels for removal. A LOT of elbow grease, but couldn’t be happier and would definitely recommend this product!!

Does the job!
We have 8 large Isinglass windows in the canvas of our 1978 Chris Craft. Over the years, I tried and tried to keep them clean and tried several products only to have them get more and more opaque. I tried this product and was so pleasantly surprised that it truly does the job! It was not an easy project, and be prepared to have a work out but your windows will be sparkling when you finish!

Best product around
This is the best product we’ve ever had for cleaning our “plastic”. It brought ours back to looking almost brand new after nine years of using a spray on we purchased at our marine supply store. We are telling all our “boat” friends about this product.

Clear View is Fantastic on Strataglass
I was nervous about using this on my expensive Stataglass windows but my neighbor recommended it highly. It was fantastic how the cleaner stripped away the white fog and the No.2 made it so clear that my windows are invisible. Just be careful that you don’t get the cleaner on the dark blue canvas because it leaves a white residue that’s hard to get out. I’m going to try your other products to see if they’re as good. My neighbor swears by your brand.

I’m still amazed by the Clear View results
After all of my previous attempts to clean the damage / stains left by hydraulic fluid on my Strataglass I didn’t have much hope that your Clear View would actually help. I took it to my boat this past weekend and started working on the most severely damaged window. It took some elbow grease, but I’m completely astonished and delighted to report that the window now looks almost as good as new. The Clear View completely removed the stains left by the hydraulic fluid as well as some hard water stains that I had not been able to remove with any other product. It took two applications on the worst window and only one application on the rest of the boat. It took more work than any other product I’ve tried, but the results speak for themselves. It was well worth the effort. I’m still amazed by the Clear View results. I’ve tried lots of boating products for various things over the years and to be honest, none of them have REALLY worked completely as advertised. NONE of them have worked BETTER than advertised…..until now. Thanks again for the great product.
